101 THINGS IN 1,001 DAYS

February 19, 2018

101 Things in 1,0001 Days

Today’s post is a bit different than normal. It’s not a list of resolutions, which I’ve said previously I don’t like, but a list of actionable things I’d love to do or accomplish in the near future.

I got the idea from Mackenzie Horan of Design Darling. She creates lists of 101 things to accomplish in 1,001 days (2.75 years). She says she chose this number because it’s a happy medium between a to do list and a bucket list.

I like the time frame because one year seems too short for larger goals, but five years feels ages away. 2.75 feels close enough for things I want to work on now, but still enough time that I could accomplish something major! I think it will be a fun way to make some big dreams while also keeping myself on track with some of my day-to-day goals. So, here goes!

THE BEST APRÈS SKI GEAR

February 15, 2018

The best Apres Ski gear

I’ve loved skiing since I was a kid, but one thing I’ve come to enjoy in recent years is the après part of skiing! There’s something soo nice about meeting up with your friends at the end of a long day on the slopes and sitting down to a drink or two.

In Mammoth, which we’ve been to a couple times this past year, there are so many fun bars- at the base of the mountain and at the peak and half way up. We’re going to Whistler for the first time this weekend and I’ve heard the mountain is MASSIVE so I’m excited to check out the après options there. In excited anticipation of our trip, I’m rounding up the best après ski gear!

MY WORD OF THE YEAR + 4 EASY RESOLUTIONS

January 4, 2018

4 easy New Year's resolutions

I can’t believe it’s 2018! I’m working to get back in the swing of things this week after time off from work, traveling to Florida for Christmas and Mammoth for New Year’s and coming down with a cold. I finally went back to the gym yesterday, stocked up on groceries and am making my way through a pile of laundry.

In between all the productiveness, I decided to take a few moments to think about my goals for the year ahead. Rather than make a list of lofty resolutions that will inevitably be forgotten, I was inspired to pick a ‘Word of the Year’ after seeing several bloggers I love do the same. The idea for picking a Word of the Year is for that chosen word to encapsulate all areas of life and serve as a reminder throughout the year. I think making big resolutions on Jan. 1 can be intimidating and this is just a way to have something to focus on year round rather than starting the year by telling myself I’m going to workout 5 days a week, give up fast food and get 8 hours of sleep each night (things that will totes never happen!)

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend! With lots of traveling for the holidays plus coming down with a bad cold I’ve gotten a bit behind in posts. So today I want to share some photos and moments from an early Christmas we spent in Tahoe with Mark’s family in early December + photos from our Christmas in Florida with my family.

MY ‘TURNING 30’ SKINCARE ROUTINE

December 13, 2017

Skincare Routine for 30 year olds

My 30th birthday is less than a week away and this milestone birthday is when I’ve always told myself I would step up my skincare game and establish a routine.

It’s not that I’ve treated my skin poorly per say in my 20s, but I have definitely not put much time, effort or money into figuring out what works best for me.

I’ve always been a stickler about sunscreen (ask anyone who’s vacationed with me lol), but I’ve used the same Neutrogena moisturizer since I was in middle school and the idea of night creams, serums and retinol quite honestly overwhelms me.

So as I enter my 30s, one of my goals is to set up a skincare routine and stick to it. In this post I’m breaking down the 6 steps I plan to take and if you find all this a bit intimidating- like I did- then you may find this helpful!
